Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-11-02
This policy is published under the Washington My Health My Data Act (chapter 19.373 RCW). It applies to Tamyo, a product of Crab Tech ("we"). It is written for everyone, and Washington consumers can rely on it for the rights described in RCW 19.373.040. It sits alongside our general Privacy Policy.
1. Categories of consumer health data, and why
The app processes the following on your device, so it can do what you asked it to do (update your character, show your day, and give estimates):
| Category | Purpose and use |
|---|---|
| Body measurements you enter: height, weight and weigh-ins, birth date | To draw your weight trend and to estimate your energy and nutrient needs as ranges. |
| Goal and activity level you choose | To set your targets and the tone of your coach. |
| Food and drink you log, including water | To compare your day with public nutrient references and to complete quests. |
| Workouts and sets you log | To show strength trends and complete quests. |
| Apple Health data you allow: steps, workouts, sleep, water, heart data | To update your character and quests. The app writes only the water you log back to Apple Health. |
| Rest-day check-ins and reminder preferences | To keep your streak fair and to time optional reminders on your device. |
We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the app features you use. We will not collect or use any additional category or purpose without first telling you here and getting your consent (RCW 19.373.020(1)(c)-(d)).
Website waitlist: your email address and language are not consumer health data. They are described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Categories of sources
- You (what you type or choose in the app).
- Apple Health on your device, only after you give permission in iOS.
We do not obtain consumer health data from data brokers or any other outside source.
3. Categories of consumer health data that are shared
None. The app has no network code. It does not send consumer health data to us or to anyone. If you export your data, make a share card or create a report, you decide where that file goes.
4. Categories of third parties and affiliates with whom data is shared
None. There are no third parties and no affiliates that receive consumer health data from Tamyo. We do not sell consumer health data. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs.
5. How to exercise your rights (RCW 19.373.040)
Under Washington law you have the right to:
- confirm whether we are collecting, sharing or selling your consumer health data, and access it;
- withdraw consent to collection and sharing;
- have your consumer health data deleted.
In the app, your data is already in your hands: you can see it, export it as a JSON file, withdraw access to Apple Health at any time in iOS Settings, and delete everything with Settings, "Delete all data" (or by deleting the app). Because the data never reaches us, we have no copy to delete.
To make a request to us, email [email protected] with the subject "Consumer health data request". No account is needed. We may ask for a little information to confirm the request is yours. We will respond without undue delay and within 45 days of receipt; if reasonably necessary we may extend that once by 45 more days and tell you why within the first 45 days. Information is free of charge up to twice a year. If your data sits in archived or backup systems, deletion may be delayed to allow the backup to be restored, for no more than six months from verifying your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Appeal. If we refuse a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, or by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Appeal". We will tell you in writing within 45 days what we did and why. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General to submit a complaint at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
